4. Legal basis and purpose of handling personal data

The legal basis for the processing of personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation is

– consent of the person (documented, voluntary, identified, informed and unambiguous)

The purpose of the processing of personal data is to maintain a Casting Register for the casting of advertising and television productions, and to send infomation about them. People who have joined the register may be sent information about casting decisions and the company’s operations in the form of a newsletter, for example, and invitations to casting events via email and phone.

The newsletter may be cancelled at any time by clicking a link included in every letter.

The data is stored until further notice and may be removed by request from the registered person.

6. Regular sources of information

The information stored in the register is obtained from the person joining the register via a web form, email, telephone, social media services, contracts, customer meetings and other events where a person gives their data.

7.  Regular transfers of data and transfers of data outside the EU or the EEA

Data may be transferred to NTRNZ casting and NTRNZ media personnel for casting needs and to customers whose advertising or tv productions are being produced.

The purpose of data transfer is to offer roles in advertising or tv productions to persons who have joined the casting register.

Data may be transferred outside the EU and ETA by the data controller in case of international productions. In these occasions, persons in the casting register may be suggested to be cast for advertising or tv productions for clients outside the EU or ETA.

8. Register protection principles

The register is handled with due care and the data processed by the information systems is adequately protected. When information is stored on Internet servers, the physical and digital security of their hardware is adequately addressed. The controller ensures that the data stored, as well as the access rights to the servers and other information critical to the security of personal data, are treated confidentially and only by the employees whose job description it includes.

9. The right to inspect and right to request correction of information

Every person in the register has the right to check the information stored in the register and to request the correction of any incorrect information or the completion of incomplete information. If a person wishes to check or request the correction of data stored about him or her, the request must be sent in writing to the data controller. If necessary, the controller may ask the applicant to prove his or her identity. The controller will respond to the customer within the time limit set by the EU Data Protection Regulation (generally within one month).

10. Other rights related to the processing of personal data 

A person in the register has the right to request the removal of his or her personal data from the register (“right to be forgotten”). Data subjects also have other rights under the EU’s general data protection regulation, such as restrictions on the processing of personal data in certain situations. Requests must be sent in writing to the controller. If necessary, the controller may ask the applicant to prove his or her identity. The controller will respond to the customer within the time limit set by the EU Data Protection Regulation (generally within one month).
