Untold Arctic Wars has been acquired by Smithsonian Channel. This marks the series’ North American debut in the U.S. and Canada.
As part of Paramount Global and Blue Ant Media, Smithsonian Channel provides a fitting context for Untold Arctic Wars. Backed by the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, it reaches a global audience deeply engaged with history, geopolitics, and the environment.
Smithsonian Channel reaches around 39 million pay television households in the United States.
Untold Arctic Wars is Finland’s most widely distributed documentary series of all time. The new season reveals how the Cold War nearly ignited a third world war – right in our northern backyard.
"Bringing Untold Arctic Wars to North America via the Smithsonian Channel is about making sure the Arctic claims its place in the global conversation on history.
Drawing focus to the Arctic is especially relevant at a time when geopolitical tensions are challenging how we understand the role of the region."
